“The education of even a small child, does not aim at preparing him for school, but for life.”
- Maria Montessori

Administrator’s Message

I have been a Montessorian my whole life, attending The Calgary Montessori School from the age of three years old. I am also proud to be the granddaughter of the founders, and the daughter of the previous administrator. I have been a teacher or administrator at CMS for 35 years now. Over those many years I have come to know that there are three experiences I love the most about my job.

The first is touring parents of two or three year olds in hopes that they will enroll their child.  I get to share my passion for Montessori and CMS while I get to know them and their love for their child.  As every child and family are unique, every tour is different and special.
“I am so grateful for all of the years of dedicated, supportive CMS staff and parents and am always excited to welcome new families who want to become part of The Calgary Montessori School family.”
The second is spending time in our Montessori environments. I enjoy seeing the guides working with the children. Even more, I love to quietly watch the children working with the Montessori materials, so happily engaged, focused and independent.  If they happen to notice my presence, they are so pleased to share their joy by showing me their work.

Thirdly, I love to meet former students of any age out in the world.  They usually recognize me and are thrilled to share their memories and to let me know how their lives have been shaped by their experiences at Calgary Montessori School.

I am so grateful for all of the years of dedicated, supportive CMS staff and parents and am always excited to welcome new families who want to become part of The Calgary Montessori School family.
