Kristen grew up in the small town of Standard, AB, and from a young age was involved in multiple sports which led her to eventually succeed in top level volleyball as a member of the Canadian Women’s National Indoor Volleyball Team. Her seven year career as a national team athlete provided her the opportunity to also play professional volleyball, where she lived and played in Romania, Philippines, and Finland and was able to get involved in the community, learn about each different culture and through this, learned the importance of understanding each unique individual and how to cultivate a positive environment. She has experienced, first-hand, the positive impact of community and participating in strong, developmental programs. Upon making the decision to retire from professional volleyball Kristen has begun to pursue the next chapter in her life, where she will use all of her experiences while continuing her education of child development and fostering her passion for working with our younger generation. Kristen has her Bachelor of Kinesiology from TWU and her Level 2 child care certification.
